

Meeting Report for May 8, 2025
The meeting was called to order by the Chapter President Desi Arnaiz at the Prince William County Police Association Hall.
Other attending Chapter Officer’s, members and guess were, Vice
President Lawrence Green ,Treasurer Tony Midgett, Secretary Bob Pace,
VVA- Joe Dimaria & VVA- Robert Sorrell.
Desi requested the attendees stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Inspirational – Inspirational words were said to open the meeting.
Secretary – Report for April 2024 was approved at this meeting.
Treasurer – Tony reported on the Chapter’s checking account balance. For more information contact the Treasurer.
Committee Reports – Membership
report was given, with Chapter membership at 79. Assisting in VA/HUD's
local effort, Community Service report or any other..…
UNFINISHED BUSINESS -
Report on the National Board Meeting – VVA National Board meeting was held April 25, 2025 in.
Report on JROTC Awards Ceremonies – Woodbridge High School April 24, 2025 and Courtland High School May 7, 2025.
Chapter Picnic – Chapter's
picnic planning is underway. Event to be hosted at Locust Shade Park in
Triangle, Virginia, rain or shine this coming Saturday May 17, 2025.
Starting at 12pm with food and drinks provided by the Chapter.
NEW BUSINESS -
Manassas Park, VA - Flag
Lowering Ceremony – The City of Manassas Park will be hosting it’s
Second Annual “Freedom Month” starting Friday May 23rd with a
Memorial Day Flag Lowering Ceremony. This event is to be held at – 100
Park Central Plaza Manassas Park, VA 20111, starting at 1:00 PM.

Flowers of Remembrance - “Arlington
National Cemetery has announced its 4th annual 'Flowers of
Remembrance'. It is an opportunity to present a flower at the Tomb of
the Unknown Soldier’s. It was so popular that Arlington decided
to continue the tradition – this year on Sunday May 25, 2025 – 8:00am
to 4:30pm.
The annual Memorial Day at The Wall -”
Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025 @ 1:00 PM ,Vietnam Veterans
Memorial, 5 HENRY BACON Dr NW, Washington, DC 20245. Ceremony is
co-hosted yearly by VVMF and the National Park Service to pay tribute
to members of America’s armed forces who have made the ultimate
sacrifice in all conflicts.” Featured speakers include: Chuck Hagel,
24th Secretary of Defense, General Barry McCaffrey, USA (Ret.),
Janet Southby, Colonel, USA Nurse (Ret.), France Hoang, CPT, USA (Fmr.)
Special introductions by Jan Scruggs, Founder of The Wall.
Dale City July 4th Parade- The parade is to be held on July 4, 2025. We have submitted our Chapter application to participate in this year’s parade.
Manassas Veterans Parade - We have submitted our Chapter application to participate in this year’s parade.
Inspirational closing - Inspirational words were said to end this meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
