Meeting report for January 12, 2012
The meeting was called to order by the Chapter President Gordon Tassi at the Prince William County Animal Shelter.
Other attending Chapter Officers were: Secretary Bob Pace.
Other attending members, associates and guests were: Desi Arnaiz VVA, Steve Botello AVVA, Brad Bradshaw VVA, Darrell Harvey VVA, Ginger Harvey AVVA, Joe Konopica - VVA and Steve Meade - VVA.
Gordon requested the attendees stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Inspirational Inspirational words were said to open the meeting.
Secretary Reported on the December, 2011 meeting were handed out.
Treasurer Tony reported by email the Chapters checking account balance stands at $3,254.25.
The Chapter received a donation from NOVAEC to help with the scholarship program.
AVVA Report Ginger Harvey, reported that the Chapters AVVA membership is now at 12 members.
Ginger said that she would be running again for Chapter AVVA Rep. in the coming April elections.
Ginger also said Steve Botello one of the Chapter's AVVA member's is going to act as AVVA nominating chair for the Chapter's AVVA elections.
If any AVVA member would like to run for any position within AVVA you need to contact Steve by US Postal mail or email him at Steve.Botello@comcast.net 30 days before the election are held.
Committee Reports - Membership 1.) Darrell reported that the Chapters VVA membership stands at 76 members.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Chapter Holiday Dinner Folks seem to feel that all was very good at the Chapter's holiday dinner that was held on Saturday - December 17, 2011 at the City Tavern Restaurant located in Manassas, VA.
Chapter Scholarship Chapter scholarship application packs were passed out. The packs are to be handed out to school's and school board's in our area. The scholarship program is open from January 1, 2012 to March 31, 2012.
The scholarship committee has done a review and update to the application package, and all has been posted on the Chapter's web site as of January 7, 2012.
Virginia State Council Meeting (VSC) The next VSC meeting well be held and hosted by VVA Chapter #196 in Lynchburg, VA on March 9 11, 2012.
NEW BUSINESS
Budget Planning - Report on 2012 budget planning for the Chapter to be tabled tell the next meeting.
Chapter Web Site Chapter domain coming up for renewal. A motion was made for the Chapter to renew the web domain for another two year's. The motion passed.
OTHER BUSINESS
Look at a Chapter trip on February 25, 2012 to The Virginia War Memorial We'll hold off on planning a trip for now and take another look at planning one some time in March.
Comcast Operation Freedom TV Show Brad said that the Operation Freedom TV show that he has been the host of, and the Chapter is one of the sponsor of,well now be hosted by Steve Botello. For more information about the show contact Steve by email at Steve.Botello@comcast.net .
