Meeting Report for February 8, 2024

The meeting was called to order by the Chapter President Desi Arnaiz at the Prince William County Police Association Hall.

Other attending Chapter Officer’s, members & guess: Vice President Lawrence Green, Treasurer Tony Migett, Secretary Bob Pace, Joe Dimaria-VVA,  & Robert Sorrell-VVA.

Desi requested the attendees stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Inspirational – Inspirational words were said to open the meeting.

Secretary – Report for January 2024 was approved at this meeting.

Treasurer – Tony reported on the Chapter’s checking account balance. For more detail information contact the Chapter's President or Treasurer.

AVVA Report – Ginger reported by email the Chapter’s AVVA’s membership is at 19 members.

Committee Reports – Membership report was 79 members. No request for assisting in VA/HUD's local effort, Community Service – First Hillendale Dr. cleanup for this year is set for March 16, 2024.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS -

Report on National Board Meeting– Bob reported on the National Board meeting was held January 19-20, 2024. Location: Silver Spring, MD.

Chapter Elections - Chapter election's shall be held at the Chapter’s April 11, 2024 meeting. Anyone who would like to run for any Chapter elected position, please notify the Chapter on or before April 11, 2024 as to your intent.

NEW BUSINESS -

VSC Meeting – The next VSC meeting Location / Time TBD

National Vietnam War Veterans Day March 29th – Remembering the day, March 29, 1973, our last combat troops pulled out of Vietnam.  Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is looking to host a ceremony at The Wall to honor the 3 million Americans who served & 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. More information to come.

National Board Meeting – Next VVA National Board meeting to be held April 19 – 20, 2024 in Silver Spring, MD.

Chapter Picnic – Chapter's picnic planning is underway and we are looking to host this event at Locust Shade Park in Triangle, Virginia again, rain or shine Saturday May 11, 2024, starting at 12pm – 4pm. Come on out for a fun day with the food and drinks provided by the Chapter. We shall give an update to this event date, as soon as we have it.
